Monday 8th

I has a little bit of spare time in the evening, so I did a strength training session on Sufferfest. These are pretty good. I think what I like about them is that there is no messing around, no frippery. You just get straight down to things. 16 minutes and I was done!

Tuesday 9th

Harriers training Session. This had the bi-monthly 6 minute timetrial at the start. Last time I managed 1670m in 6 minutes, this time 1630. Not so good. I still have a bit of a lingering sense of ‘Can’t Be Bothered’ about running at the moment, so that might be what it was down to.

Wednesday 10th

Swimming! As part of my new regime of keeping things fresh, I have decided to train like a triathlete, but probably not do any triathlons. Anyway, so I swam 800m, in about 4 sets of 200m. Just freestyle, nothing fancy. I am quite running fit, but not swim fit. So my triceps were aching, but I was hardly out of breath!

Thursday 11th

Watched ‘Chasing Legends’, a 2010 film about the Columbia-HTC cycling team. Its a pretty good film. I’d like to think its a bit of an inside look, but who am I to know?

Friday 12th

Sat 13th

Hexhamshire Hobble Recce. I’ve never done this race before, so took up the opportunity to run the route with some friends. Its a nice race, except maybe for the start which goes straight up a steep hill from Allendale.
